Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have had lots of family in town lately for all the birthdays going around. Jared's cousins the Dellas. We love hanging with them.

My family all together for a few days. We had lots of fun: went bowling, slept on air mattresses, ate shrimp salad, shopped, hemmed pants, and had a blast being all together.
A girls weekend in Park City. Our excited faces before heading off on the mountain coaster. Thanks Candice and Chalaine for a fun birthday weekend.
Beautiful view we had on our ski lift ride to the alpine slide.

San Diego

A few weeks ago we went to San Diego to visit my sister Kim. We had a great time. Jared loved, loved, loved seaworld. We also had our picture drawn by a cartoonist (check out Jared, he is riding the dolphin in his wheelchair....TALENT).

Good Idea?

In the last four years, Jared has only been in the car while in his wheelchair (which means a mini van).  He promised me I would never have to own one and now that's all we fit in (never say never).  Well, I wanted to try and get him in the black car so he could sit in a real seat and have a fun ride.  This is as far as we got.  By the time I realized we were not going to fit we were both laughing so hard we had to rest a minute.  I guess I better save this adventure for when I have more help (and muscles).  P.S. The handsome man in church clothes is my hubby in his Easter attire.

Memorial Sculpture

USU had a memorial built to honor all of those who passed away in the van accident Jared was involved with in 2005.  It it really beautiful.  Nine tiles depict personal interests and the personalities of those who were lost.  Here are my best pictures.  We were lucky enough to obtain a framed copy of the whole thing.  What a wonderful tribute, and how thoughtful of the university to see it through.  We will always remember.

Finally.....last years pictures!

I have never really invested in a photographer, we have just always had such good talented friends around to do it (yes even for our wedding).  Well, when we moved here to Logan I realized we didn't have anyone for Christmas pictures last year so I decided to go professional. It took a very long time to get any of the prints but the photographer we chose did a great job.....I think. I wanted Jared out of his chair for some shots so this is  a few of what we got.  Isn't he a handsome man?
These last three are the ones I chose to blow up and hang in our house.  Two for the living room and one for the bedroom.  They are looking pretty big in our little house right now but maybe someday soon we will have some more room for them.

Some more of my favorites!

We couldn't get Jared to shut his mouth.  Most of the pictures he has a wide mouth grin.  Funny man of mine.
Jared was loving the camera.  He kept laughing  at the photographer because of all the "clicking" she was doing.

Long Time

Well we have been very spoiled lately and have had so much going on.  School, and life, and therapy, and school, and wonderful family, and did I mention school, has kept us on the move.   Here are a few pics that explain a bit.  Jared on the airplane coming home from Oregon.  This was the good leg of our flight.
Jared and Shawn (bro-in-law) trying to get Jared downstairs.  Jared grabbed the railing, so no one could go any farther.  We had to get a picture.
Waiting at the airport for Elder Dance.  We each had blown up pictures of him.  Good to have him home.  Thanks mom for taking a silly picture.
We have been doing lots of research and looking around for a new bed.  Finally we found one. It's actually two different beds with adjustable bases so Jared can still sleep with his head raised and I can be close enough to get to him if he needs something.  It has been so nice.  I no longer have to get up and out of bed to get what he needs.
We used to sleep on two beds similar to this.  Wow are we spoiled now.  It's great.
